What is the quickest and safest way to transfer money between two checking accounts?

My friend is buying a car off of me for over $13,000 and I need to know the quickest and safest way for him to send me the money from his checking account to my checking account. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would say the quickest and safest way would be to set up a wire transfer. This way you don't have to mess with carrying that much cash or having to wait for a check to clear through the banks. It may cost you around $20 or so, depending on which bank you deal with. Just go into your branch and they could set it up. You would need your friends checking account info, get one of his deposit slips and the bank can get the info they need.
