...which tax form did you use at the end of the year to file your taxes?
1040 A or 1040 EZ?
I already have the IRS 800 number, and the address of their website. I may call them later, but right now I am just curious about which forms YOU used. Thanks.
:-)
a small monthly retirement pension check of maybe 300 bux.

If your pension is small, you look on your annual Social Security Statement, which is sent to you in December or January, and figure if you owe any tax at all. You may not, then you don't even have to file. Many, many, many retirees fall into this catagory.
The tax form used would depend on whether you itemize, such as mortgage interest. If you have nothing to itemize, probably a 1040EZ.

I use the 1040 EZ. I get about $1200.00 in Social Security and about $900.00 from another pension. I am also 80 years old.

Since we're homeowners and have deductions to list, we use the Form 1040 and have a professional fill it out for us.
You can only file 1040 EZ if you're just claiming you self.
If you're claiming anything else, property taxes, medical bills, dependent, etc, you should file on the 1040 or 1040 A

I use the 1040 EZ.
I received Retirement pay from the Military, a VA disability check from the VA and collect my SS also.
Only have to pay taxes on the Military retirement.
I believe that if you under a certain income level you can use the 1040EZ.
I am 64 yrs old.

While we're on the "money"
subject...Seniors in Cal. Are
you aware of the Homeowner's
& Renter's credit" which gives
you a rebate of around $270.
to partially off-set your property
tax bill. I think this form should
be sent in soon.
